Chelsea targets Enzo Fernandez following David Datro Fofana transfer

The English professional football club is looking to secure Enzo Fernandez following their agreement to Datro Fofana’s transfer.

Chelsea has been on a spending spree following their takeover by Todd Boehly. As the transfer window of 2023’s initial phrase just opened, the Blues quickly solidified their deal to sign the Molde striker David Datro Fofana on January 1.

The club representative said, “Chelsea FC has reached a pre-agreement with Molde FK for the transfer of David Datro Fofana.” They added, “The 20-year-old striker will join the Blues on 1 January 2023. We look forward to welcoming David to the club!”

However, they aren’t stopping their transfer market journey for winter window yet. As the club has recently started showing some clear interest on the young FIFA World Cup 2023 Player of the Tournament winner and winning side member, Enzo Fernandes.

The Argentine midfielder is currently serving as the center midfielder for the Lisbon based Primera Liga club, SL Benfica. He just signed for Benfica last summer. The 21-year-old Argentine’s contract with the Portuguese club is valid till 2027.

Admiring his recent achievements in both the Champions League and FIFA World Cup, the club is also reluctant to give the player up easily. As management of Benfica side has asked for a release clause of £105 million from the English side.

Chelsea seems to be willing to pay the release clause. However, officials haven’t reached to any conclusive talks with the player yet. Fans are eager to see the Argentine youngster’s journey in future.
