A brand-new team-based golf tournament began running this Friday in the United Arab Emirates. With the authorization from PGA European Tour, Hero Cup is the latest addition to the DP World Tour that inaugurated the latest 2023 calendar. Two teams of 9 players each, one representing Great Britain & Ireland and the other representing Continental Europe initiated the founding editor of the Hero Cup. Popular professional golfers like Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Thomas Detry, and Sepp Straka are participating in the competition.
Hero Cup 2023 Purse:
Organizers of the Hero Cup’s inaugural edition have announced a €2,000,000 purse pool for the event. Which amounts to around $2.17 million in USD. This purse pool will be divided between both teams and each participant will receive a share based on their team’s standing.
The winning team will receive $1,125,000 from the purse pool. From there, each player will earn around $125,000 reward. While the losing side will receive only $675,000. It will also be divided among 9 players equally with each receiving $75,000 consolation reward.
This will leave $370,000 in the prize pool. It will then be divided among the two captains and other members of both teams.
