Tyson Fury open to face Anthony Joshua provided the bout is free

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1) announced his retirement from his professional boxing career in July. But now he shows interest to sign the contract and return to the ring to face Anthony Joshua (26-2).

However, a condition applies that the bout should be free to watch and attend in England. “The fight has got to be for free. “Free to air on television and all tickets go for free. No money is to be made off of this British, historic fight if it happens. There are the terms, I’m in the driving seat, take it or effing leave it.” Fury wrote in an Instagram post.

Fury beat compatriot Dillian Whyte to retain the WBC title in his last fight in April, before the announcement of retirement. He then said in June he would fight again for £500m.

Joshua, meanwhile, will be looking to regain his WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO world titles when he fights Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch. The face-off will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 20 August.

Tyson Fury could face the winner of the Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch but it was his personal decision alone. “He has to want it for his legacy and for his peace of mind,” says Top Rank president Todd duBoef.
