Teófimo López Returns: Challenges Ryan García After Defeating Campa

Teófimo López returned to the ring spectacularly, knocking out Pedro Campa on Saturday. López appeared as a 140lb under welterweight in the match that took place at Resorts World Events Center in Las Vegas.

He was seen struggling a little bit in the fourth and fifth rounds but returned stronger in the sixth. As soon as the seventh round began, the 25-year-old López appeared more ferocious and put Campa down with relentless punches. As Campa dropped to 34-2-1, the referee had no way but to declare an end to the bout at 2:14.

López ruled the ring with a terrible combination of his left hooks and right uppercuts. Landing 52% of power punches, he gave no time to possess one punch but delivered another.

On the other end, his opponent Campa relies on a straightforward approach. So, he couldn’t find scopes to land punches against his active and aware opponent. With this victory, Lopez has rewritten his record to 17 wins including 13 knockouts and one loss against Campa, that being in a 10-round fight.

On Saturday, He looked like himself back in 2020, when the young dedicated fighter stunned the world with his victory against Vasily Lomachenko to claim the unified lightweight championship. In the post-fight conference, López declared himself prepared to face anyone, with an indication toward Ryan Garcia. Ryan is possibly going to be his next opponent.
