Tiger Woods To Meet Influential PGA Tour Golfers To Stop Switches To LIV Series

Legendary golfer Tiger Woods is scheduled to meet with the PGA Tour’s influential players today (Tuesday), reports ESPN. This is a gesture of showing support to the PGA Tour in its ongoing rivalry with the Saudi-backed LIV Golf series. The meeting will take place at Wilmington, Delaware where the BMW Championship is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

“It’s a meeting to get the top 20 players in the world on the same page on how we can continue to make the PGA Tour the best product in professional golf,” one player invited to the meeting told ESPN.

Jay Monahan, commissioner of the PGA Tour, will reportedly have a separate meeting with the players on the following day (Wednesday). However, it’s not clear if Woods would be present there too.

Apart from Woods, many other prominent golfers including Rory McIlroy have raised their voices against the controversial LIV Series suggesting players not to switch.

The LIV golf series has offered lucrative deals to lure golfers. It has already snatched many top players from the PGA tour. The league has left no stone unturned as they called the 15-times major champion Tiger Woods too. However, Woods rejected Greg Norman’s record $700-800 million offer to join LIV Golf earlier in August.
