Protesters Interrupt NFL’s Season-Opener With Pink Smoke Bombs

Two women— a pair of protesters interrupted the NFL’s season-opener on Thursday night at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The incident took place in the fourth quarter of the game between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams. The unexpected pink air on the field later came out to be pink smoke bombs.

The security instantly took them down hard on the ground and then carried them away. The game was paused for a while until the smoke cleared.

The activist group ‘Direct Action Everywhere’ identified the pair, namely Emek Echo and Katia Shokrai. The shirts they wore read “RightToRescue.com”. It refers to a website that claims to raise awareness for whistleblowers who are facing prison time for exposing farm animal abuse by big corporations. The women were reportedly protesting to raise awareness with the same purpose.

However, the Buffalo Bills showed a dominating performance on that night, winning by 21. They beat LA Rams 31-10. Josh Allen was announced the MVP of the game with three touchdowns and one score. With this, they delivered a threatening message that it won’t turn out easy to play at the Los Angeles Rams for any other team this season.

Tweets and gossip appeared among netizens after the incident. Many people also questioned the security of the SoFi stadium. However, it’s a delightful matter that no one got hurt during the occurrence. For there was a high possibility for players to get injured due to the smoke bombs.
