Bo Nickal Wants to Face Khamzat in December

Bo Nickal wasted no time following his in the Dana White Contender Series and called out Khamzat Chimaev.

Bo Nickal is NCAA Division 1 wrestler with a distinguished career in freestyle wrestling. He made his debut in MMA this year and is currently competing in the DWCS. Last Tuesday, In his 2nd fight in the contender series, he brilliantly finished Donovan Beard by a triangle choke. In the aftermath of the fight, the 26-year-old immediately called out Khamzat Chimaev in the post-fight press conference.

“I feel like that’s a good matchup for me. He’s obviously a high-level grappler, a high-level fighter. He’s one of the top fighters not only in his division but in the UFC. I have a lot of respect for his skills but I also know what I’m about,” Nickal said. “But I’m ready to go. It will happen in the future. I’ll be more than prepared then.”

“He’s good without a doubt,” Nickal said. “You can’t take that away from him. He’s got skills and he does a lot of things really well. That being said, ask anybody who knows anything about wrestling and who watches the sport and studies it, and puts time into it. I’m one of the best wrestlers in the world,” he added

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the biggest names in the MMA world right now. Chimaev is dominating both the welterweight and the middleweight divisions of the UFC as he already acquired a record of 6 wins and 0 losses in the promotion. He barely faced a challenge in any of his fights except against Gilbert Burns.

Despite Chimaev’s camp hinting at his permanent move to the middleweight division, it is unlikely that Nickal will face the Russian in the first fight of his UFC contract. However, their matchup would be a treat to watch as it is a great stylistic matchup. A fight between them in the future at the biggest stage of the UFC is very much possible considering the potential of both these fighters.
