The weekend has been hectic for boxing fans around the world with high stakes fights between the top of each class and with titles on the line. For the light heavyweight and featherweight divisions, the upcoming “Ball vs Rubio” boxing event will also feature two championship defense fights.

Ball vs Rubio is an upcoming Friday night boxing event featuring 7 fight cards. The main card features a bout between Nick Ball and Eduardo Ramirez Rubio for the WBC Silver Featherweight title. While the co-main card features Willy Hutchinson vs Luca Spadaccini for the WBO Inter Continental Light Heayvweight title.

Originally, the event was scheduled to feature Rafael Pedroza as Nick Ball’s opponent. But a week before the event Pedroza withdrew from the bout. As a result, the popular Mexican boxer, Eduardo “Ko’Reano” Rubio was selected as Ball’s new opponent. This will be their first meet inside a boxing ring.

Coming from England, Nick Ball is the present WBC Silver Featherweight title holder. He has an undefeated career record of 16-0. He earned the title recently at the Fury vs Whyte event. Defeating Issac Lowe via 6th round TKO, the English boxer earned his first career title. Following that, he faced Nathaniel Kakololo and again defeated him via unanimous decision.

Eduardo Ramirez Rubio is one of the prominent featherweight boxers in the Mexican scene. He currently holds an impressive career record of 21-1-3. This year, he faced countryman Anthony Jimenez and defeated him with a round 4 KO. Before that, Rubio fought Juan Carlos Mireles last year. He won that fight also via KO. His career knockout percentage is around 58.33%.
