The World Boxing Championship is an international boxing competition event by the International Boxing Association. The sports event was established in 1974 and has been running biennially featuring competition over 13 weight classes on men’s discipline.
The upcoming World Boxing Championship 2023 will be the 22nd edition of the popular international boxing competition. Initially, the event was supposed to take place in India. Later plans were changed to host the event in Uzbekistan. Thus, it will take place on May 1st will run till the following May 14th in Tashkent.
This year’s event will feature a $5.2 million prize pool. Each gold medalist will receive $200,000. While the silver and bronze medalists of each division will earn $100,000 and $50,000 respectively. However, the competitions won’t act as a qualification medium for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.
