Preview of 2022 Volta a Catalunya
2022 Volta a Catalunya is the 101st edition of Volta a Catalunya and the 7th race of the 2022 UCI World Tour. A total of 24 teams is participating in the race including 18 UCI World Team and 6 UCI Pro Team. All teams are entered with 7 riders except 3 teams which have 6 riders. Those 3 teams are Ora–Hansgrohe, Lotto–Soudal, Team Jumbo–Visma. In total 165 riders entered the race.
There will be 7 stages and a total of 1213.4 km of the route including flat and mountain stages. Stage 1 will start on 21 March and Stage 7 will be on 27 March 2022.

What are the 2022 Volta a Catalunya Routes?
The Volta a Catalunya starts on 21 March from Sant Feliu de Guíxols and will finish in 27 March at Barcelona. This 7 day races occupies two mountain top finishes at La Monila and Boí Taüll and 1213.4 km.
Stage 1 Sant Feliu de Guíxols will start from Sant Feliu de Guíxols and will finish at Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The 2nd stage will start from L’Escala and will cross the border to France and finish at Perpignan. The 3rd stage is a Mountain stage where it will start from a flat stage Perpignan and will end at the top of La Monila. The climbing is 12.1 kilometers long and the average gradient sits at 4.3%.
Stage 4 is also a mountain stage where it starts from La Seu d’Urgell and ends in Boí Taüll. The route is 161 Km long. Its ascends are 14.2 km long and the gradient sits at 5.5%. Stage 5 starts at La Pobla de Segur and ends in Vilanova i la Geltrú by covering 202 km. Stage 6 & 7 both start and end at the same spot. Stage 7 ends in Barcelona at a hilly circuit.
