ESL One Malaysia 2022 is an international Dota 2 event starting on the 23rd of August at the Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands, Malaysia. Here is all you need to know about the event.
Valve’s Dota 2 is one of the largest gaming franchises in the MOBA genre. The esports scene has been thriving since its launch in 2013. ESL, the biggest independent league for esports, is in charge of organizing Dota’s third event in Genting Highlands of Malaysia.
As a tier 1 tournament of the Dota competitive circuit, we see most of the top teams taking part in the 2022 ESL One Malaysia. Some of the leading teams to play in this LAN tournament are OG, Team Aster, TSM, etc.
ESL One Malaysia 2022 Schedule:
ESL One Malaysia 2022 is set to start with the group stage matches on August 23. The tournament will end on August 28, crowning the new ESL Champion.

Playoffs:
Playoffs will start with the Upper-bracket semi-finals on the 25th of August at 05:30 SGT. The grand final is scheduled for the last day, the 28th of August at 04:00 pm SGT.
ESL One Malaysia 2022 Format:
There are a total of 12 teams participating in the tournament. Seven of them were invited, while the rest four had to qualify from their respective region.
The event is divided into 2 stages; group stage and playoffs. Each group consists of six teams. The group matches will be played out in a round-robin system, with all matches being B02. The top 2 placed teams from each group will advance to the upper bracket in the playoffs. The 3rd and the 4th team in the standings will be placed into the lower bracket.
In the playoffs, it will be a double elimination bracket with all the matches being B03.
