The Game Awards is the world’s largest award-giving ceremony in the international video game industry. Inaugurating in 2014, the award show quickly gathered prestige and recognition of both developers and gamers worldwide.
The Game Awards 2022 will be the 9th official iteration of the event. It is scheduled to be held in Los Angeles this Friday. Like every year, Geoff Keighley will host the event.
As the new generation of the console has strengthened its footing among developers and gamers, the new game awards see a new collection of games and developers with newer technology breakthroughs. In addition, the event is set to feature some new and exciting reveals on upcoming games.
The upcoming show will feature awards in 26 different categories. Moreover, there will be 6 additional categories for e-sports and creators. Santa Monica Studio’s latest creation “God of War Ragnarök” is currently the highest nomination holder with nominations in 11 different categories. It is followed by FromSoftware’s highly acclaimed “Elden Ring”, which has nominations in 8 different categories.

Downtown L.A.’s most recognizable indoor theater, The Microsoft Theater is selected as the venue of the latest game awards. For the record, it was also the venue of last year’s Game Awards.
