The International 2022 will end this coming weekend, with the last four teams playing against each other to see who will win the Aegis of Champions in Singapore. Valve is giving each Dota 2 player a swag bag with items from The International 2022 as a way to show its appreciation.
From now until the end of the 2022 Battle Pass, Dota 2 players who have played at least 10 matches will be able to get this goodie bag, which is a tribute to the most important competitive event in the game. This includes a free entry pass for the battle pass itself. This means that fans who were determined not to support a product that has mostly been panned will be able to get the rewards for free, as long as they keep playing the game. This is true as long as they still play.
This is what you will get if you join the game between now and January 12, 2023, and play ten matches between now and then.
- One month of Dota Plus.
- A Level 1 Battle Pass, redeemable for 24 Battle Levels if you already own a Battle Pass.
- Your choice of one Arcana from any available on the Dota 2 store.
In addition to the free battle pass, you will also be able to try out Dota Plus, a paid service for the game created by Valve that gives regular players a number of helpful extras, as well as any Arcana that is currently for sale in the shop.
Valve is doing this as part of a bigger plan to make the season leading up to The International a better time for all Dota fans to play more, whether they want to keep grinding, are new to the scene, or are coming back after taking a break.
It’s unlikely that this will keep most fans from being disappointed by the battle pass, and it won’t help the TI11 prize pool catch up to what it was in previous years. But in terms of giving back to the community at a time when this content was causing trouble, it is a nice way for Valve to start fixing things on that end, and it is one way that they are trying to make things better.
