Barcelona is closer to the La Liga 2022-23 Title

After two consecutive goalless draws in the league, Barcelona finally got a win. And that too against Atletico Madrid. The Catalan club edged closer to the league title with a 1-0 home win on Sunday (April 23).

Barcelona drew two matches in a row after losing to Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. However, Xavi’s team returned to the rhythm as a result of the victory against Atlético on Sunday. Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 44th minute of the first half.

At the very beginning of the match, Atletico could have won. Griezmann took a shot from outside the D-box in the 44th second of the match, but it hit the crossbar. Then the hosts continued to play for position. However, Barcelona was in danger again in the 35th minute of the match.

This time, Griezmann took a shot from inside the D-box, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen blocked it with great skill. Torres scored for Barcelona in the 44th minute. Spanish forward Torres scored a low right-footed shot from the face of the box after receiving Rafinha’s pass.

Barcelona created several scoring opportunities in the second half. However, the gap did not increase due to the failure of the footballers. As a result, the hosts left Camp Nou with this one-goal victory. Barcelona moved closer to the title after winning such a big match against Atletico.

Barcelona is at the top of the table with 76 points from 30 matches with 24 wins and 4 draws. Real Madrid in two with 65 points in the equal match. Atlético is third in the table with 60 points.
