Paris Saint-Germain; Transfer activities so far

Under the tutelage of the Qatari petrodollar, there’s only one single agenda in the Parc Des Princess and that is to achieve continental glory.

Last season, PSG had overseen a blockbuster transfer which saw Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Giorgini Wijnaldum & Achraf Hakimi all come to the Parisian club. Nevertheless, the result was not as expected as the club crashed in the last 16 of the UCL by the eventual winner Real Madrid.

This time, their intention is still the same and they’re trying to figure out what is their need. Let’s have a look at the business activity so far in the French capital.

Incomings:

Vitinha:

The 22-year-old Brazilian caught the eye of many clubs as he was outstanding with FC Porto last year. PSG President Naser Al Khelaifi did no mistake and signed the prospective midfielder to bolster their strength at the price of €41m.

Nuno Mendes:

Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes is a serious talent and the Parisian club can thank their luck as they can secure his signing. He played at the club since the last season as a loanee. At the end of the loan, PSG signed the youngster permanently after paying €38m to Sporting CP.

Renato Sanches:

Another Portuguese player who came to Paris this season is Sanches. He’s an explosive midfielder and often creates havoc on the opposing defence. Many clubs were trying to sign him but he followed his Coach’s way and signed for PSG. The club spent €15m on him. It’s a great deal for the club as the player is worth a lot more than his transfer fee.

Nordi Mukiele:

PSG spent €12m after Mukiele to increase competition in their right back position. He’s seen as a long-term investment by the club.

Hugo Ekitke:

Psg brings the young attacker from Reims as a loanee with an option to buy. They intend to sell their regular striker Icardi and in that case, he’ll be their future Number 9.

Pablo Sarabia:

Sarabia came from Sporting after ending his loan move.

Departures:

Arnaud Kalimuendo:

PSG deems the French striker as a surplus of their need and sold him to Rennais for a fee of €20m.

Thilo Kehrer:

The young centre-back spent a considerable amount of time at the Parc Des Princess but failed to find a permanent place, therefore, to find more game time he opted to move to EPL. PSG sold him to West Ham for a fee of €15m.

Alphonse Areola:

West ham signed another player from PSG this season. This time, it’s the goalkeeper Areola. He sealed the move after the English club spent €9m for him.

Marcin Bulka:

PSG now has plenty of options for the goalkeeping position and so, they sold their fourth-choice goalkeeper Bulka to Nice for around €2m.

Angel Di Maria:

Di Maria is a great player in the history of the Parisian club. He gave them many memorable moments. He left the club this season after seeing out his contract. He joined Juventus.

PSG has plenty of talents and potential in their squad. They now try to bring the perfect players to fulfil their demands. There would be no surprise if they’ll sign one or two more players before the end of the current transfer window.
