The BMW Championship 2022 Purse is set to be $15 million as announced by the PGA. The winner of the tournament will receive $2.7 million, which is 18% of the total purse according to the PGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart.
There has been a massive increase in the purse of the penultimate FedEx Cup Playoffs event this year. In 2021, the purse was $9.5 million, while the winner, Patrick Cantlay, was awarded $1.71 million.
Therefore, compared to last year, in the 2022 BMW Championship, the purse increased by $5.5 million. The winner of the event will also receive an additional $1 million payout.
Besides the substantial purse, there are extra benefits to performing well in the tournament. The winner of the tournament will be awarded 2,000 FedEx Cup points, along with an estimated 51 Official World Golf Ranking points.
All the players are eligible for a share of the prize money, provided they finish all four rounds. The runner-up will get $1.62 million, while the last placed golfer takes home an amount of $30,600.
