This year, the event makes a much-awaited return after a 2-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will take place at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club in Ontario, Canada from August 25-28. It will be played in a 72 holes Stroke play format.

The field will feature 156 professional female golfers including nine of the top 10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Total prize money of $2,350,000 is set to distribute to the tournament toppers.

Defending Champion: Ko Jin-Young

The CP Women’s Open didn’t take place in the past two years. Ko Jin-Young won the title in the 2019-edition and remains the defending champion. With 24 professional wins in her kit, she is currently the world no. 1.

The South Korean professional golfer had bagged the LPGA Korea Tour title 10 times by the age of just 22. This year in March, she won the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Ko was honored the LPGA Player of the Year twice— in 2019 and in 2021.
