Dubai Desert Classic is the latest event of DP World Tour 2023 season, currently being held in UAE. Below you can read about the latest prize and purse details of the ongoing Dubai based professional golf event.
Dubai Desert Classic 2023 Purse:
Dubai Desert Classic is the popular UAE-based annual DP World Tour professional golf competition. It is also a part of the European Tour’s well-known Rolex series. The ongoing event is the 35th edition of the event.
This year, Dubai Desert Classic is featuring a $9 million purse pool. While there is a $1 million increment from the previous year’s $8 million purse, it is the same as the recently finished Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
The purse pool will be distributed among the top 65 players to make a cut in the event. The winner of the Dubai Desert Classic 2023 is set to bag $1.53 million from the purse pool as a reward. While the runner-up will receive $990,000 reward and a prize size of $563,400 is fixed for 3rd place holder.
Winner at the 2022 edition of the Dubai-based event, Viktor Hovland received $1.333 million prize share. While the runner-up Richard Bland bagged $888,880 from the event. There is a 14% increment in the winner’s share and an 11.4% increment in the runner-up’s share this year. Both of which seems record increment size compared to not just the last year but in the event’s history.
The whooping increment size is not only on the upper side of the standings. As the 63rd, 64th, and 65th-placed participants are set to earn respectively $23,400, $22,500, and $21,600 from this year’s event. Whereas players in the same positions earned $20,000, $19,200, and $18,400 in 2022. As such, it can be said that the lower standings will see a significant bump like their upper counterpart.
