Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai is a seniors’ golf event. It is held in Hawaii every year in January as a part of the PGA Tour Champions. Mitsubishi Electric has been the major sponsor of the event for past 14 years. Before that, the event was popular as MasterCard Championship.

This year’s Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai will start this Thursday. It will be the 40th official iteration of the event since its debut in 1984. The event will be played over 72 par in stroke play format.

The Hawaiian golf competition features $2 million purse pool, same as last year. The field will feature 42 professional senior golfers this year. Both the defending champion (Miguel Angel Jimenez) and runner up (Steven Alker) of 2022 will be present in the field.

The seniors’ golf competition on Hualalai will start on January 19th. For the first round, players will be divided into groups of three to compete together against each other. During the first round, Tom Lehman, Fred Funk, and Stephen Dodd will team up as the first group to initiate the event. They will tee-off together at 03:05 p.m. ET. There will be 11-minute difference between each group’s tee-times.
