Nedbank Golf Challenge has quickly become one of the most popular season-ending golf events of the DP World Tour, since its inclusion in 2013. The event is held annually in Sun City, with a 72-par stroke play format. Unfortunately, the event was canceled for past two years due to the COVID pandemic.
The 2022 Nedbank Golf Challenge will be the 40th edition of the event since its establishment in 1981. It is one of the most popular golf events in South Africa. Every year, the event attracts some of the best European golfers, thanks to its huge purse pool size. This year won’t be any different either.

Nedbank Golf Challenge 2022 Purse:
The 2022 Nedbank Golf Challenge golf tournament is featuring a purse pool of $6 million. Compared to the $7.5 million purse pool featured in the previous (2019) tournament, this is a huge step down. However, the organizers decided to reduce the purse pool due to the present inflation rates brought on by the pandemic.
The purse of each individual placement will therefore decrease because of the decline in the purse pool. However, a considerable sum from the pool will still be awarded to each of the top 65 competitors who made the cut in the tournament.
The winner’s share for this year is set at $1.02 million. While Tommy Fleetwood, the defending champion, left with $2.5 million and the competition’s championship in 2021. The prize money for 2022’s runner-up is $666,666. In addition, third place holder will receive $375,600 in prize money.
