History of the Golf Course:

The golf Course bears a rich history. This course is called the home of golf, as golf was first played here back in the 15th century. Due to the game’s popularity, the game was banned in the country since the early 1500s.

It’s a fun fact that the course was used for rabbit farming, and it took a long time to bring golf back into this ground. The first and 18th holes of the Old Course at St Andrews were made by Old Tom Morris. The game became so popular in Scotland that, golfers played in the same hole from different directions.

Since 1873, this historic golf course has hosted the Open Championship for 29 times, and the tournament is hosted in this course in every five years.
