Similar to many other events, the purse for this Detroit-based 72-hole tournament got a bump. In 2021, the purse was $7.5 million with the winner claiming $1.35 million for himself. So, this year, the Rocket Mortgage Classic 2022 Purse and prize money increased by a whopping $900,000. The winner of the event will get an extra $160,000 compared to last year.
Not everyone who is participating is guaranteed a paycheque in this event. Placing in the top 65 is the requirement to be a part of the $8.4 million purse. Securing the top 65 in the standings will ensure at least a payout of $18,060.
