It was the second event on the new calendar of the PGA Tour 2022-23 season. It started on September 26 and ran through to October 2 at The Country Club of Jackson.

The Sanderson Farms Championship has been part of the PGA Tour since its inaugural edition in 1968. It is played in the 54-hole course. It is a four-round long tournament. Five top-50 professional golfers participated in it. They are Seamus Power, Sepp Straka, Keegan Bradley, Harris English, and defending champion Sam Burns. Last year, the American claimed the title with a 1-stroke victory over Nick Watney and Cameron Young.

The Sanderson Farms Championship 2022 Purse is set at $7.9 million. The winner of the tournament will take home a cheque of $1.422 million, being a standard 18% of the purse. It is set according to the official PGA prize money distribution chart.

The previous edition of the tournament offered a total prize pool worth $7 million. Champion Sam Burns received $1,260,000. That means both the purse and winner’s share have increased by healthy amounts.
