The PGA Tour Champions is now in the USA as the Ally Challenger 2022 is being played at the Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan. Replacing the Buick Open, this tournament for the golfers aged 50 and above, started its journey in 2018. Since then it has been held annually. The defending champion is Joe Durant.
Many of the world’s most prominent senior golfers have arrived in Michigan to play at this relatively newly established event. The field of 78 includes players like Padraig Harrington, Steve Alker, Mike Weir, Michael Allen, etc.
The Ally Challenge 2022 Purse:
The Ally Challenge 2022 purse is $2 million. The winner of the tournament will receive $300,000. Along with this lucrative money, the winner will also receive the points required to advance to the 2022 Charles Schwab Cup playoffs.
The winner’s share of the prize pool is the usual 15% in accordance with the PGA Champions Tour prize money distribution chart. The first and second runners-up will get a respectable sum of $176,000 and $144,000, respectively.
Compared to last year, the Ally Challenge 2022 Purse did not increase this year. In 2021, the total purse was the same $2 million with the winner bagging $300,000 for himself. All participants are eligible for a share of the purse, provided they play out all 3 rounds. The last placed participant will get $1,000 as a payout.
