Sponsored by the popular Japanese clothing brand ZOZO, it is being held at the Narashino Country Club in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The ongoing iteration of the event began this October 13, 2022, and will end on upcoming October 16, 2022.
Sanctioned under the PGA Tour, Zozo Championship made its inaugural establishment in 2019. Later, the Japan Golf Tour joined the authorization. Currently, it is slated to run till 2025 at least.
The event returned to Japan in 2021 after being hosted in the United States under the sole authority of the PGA Tour. Hideki Matsuyama won the event that year, defeating Brenden Steele and Cameron Tringale. This year’s tournament drew a total of 78 participants.

Zozo Championship 2022 Purse:
This year, the total Zozo Championship 2022 Purse is $11 million. Which is a massive 9.55% increment from the previous year’s prize money of $9.95 million. As a result, each position will see a significant increment in prize money.
The winner of the ongoing event will receive 18% of the complete prize pool, which is equivalent to $1.98 million. Additionally, the runners-up will receive $1.18 million this time. Whereas last year’s 1st position holder, Hideki Matsuyama received a prize check of $1.791 million.
All of the 78 participants of the event will receive a portion of this huge prize pool this year. As such, the 76th, 77th, and 78th position holders will receive $18,040, $17,820, and $17,600 respectively.
