Zurich Classic is a popular professional golf tournament held at the TPC Louisiana. The event is well known for being a team-based golf competition under the annual PGA Tour calendar. It initially started as an individual event in 1938 but later in 2017 shifted to the team format.
Upcoming Zurich Classic will be officially titled “Zurich Classic of New Orleans 2023” and it will be the 6th official edition of the event since its’ shift to team-based competition. This year’s field will feature a total of 160 professional golfers.
The event will be a team-based competition with a team-stroke play format over 72-par. Each team will have two participants and the team draw will be determined based on Tour priority rankings.
Defending champions, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele are returning to defend their 2022 title. Participants will compete for an $8.6 million prize pool with a winner’s share of $2.485 million. The winner’s share will be split between the two competitors on the champion team.
