The popular Swiss annual ice hockey competition is finally back after two years of cancellation. Spengler Cup 2022 has been announced for coming Monday.

Spengler Cup is the popular Swiss invitational ice hockey tournament. Since its founding in 1923, the event has been hosted annually in Switzerland. However, the event was cancelled for the past two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
With the 2022 iteration, Spengler Cup is finally back. Like every year, it will again be held in Switzerland. A total of 6 teams are participating in the event. These are –
- Team Canada
- HC Sparta Praha
- HIFK Hockey
- Orebro HK
- HC Ambri-Piotta
- HC Davos
Divided in two groups, these teams participated in the group stage. The top teams of each group will proceed to the semifinals, while the following two will compete in quarterfinals for the empty semifinalist spot. Finally, the winning side of each semifinal match will be playing the championship decider match.
