NFL pre-season is a set of exhibition games that the teams play before the beginning of the regular season. The start of the pre-season marks the end of the training camp for the NFL teams. These exhibition games have been a custom for the NFL since almost the inception of the Football league.
In 2022, the pre-season will be played out over the weekends for 4 weeks between August 4 – August 28. Being in accordance with tradition, the Hall of Fame game will kick off the 2022 NFL pre-season. This year, The Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders will battle it out in Canton, Ohio to clinch the glory of winning the Hall of Fame game.
Previously, the NFL teams used to play four games in the preseason. However, in 2021, the pre-season got shortened to expand the regular season. So, as per the renewed rules, all teams except the Jaguars and the Raiders will play three exhibition games this year.
