Blakeley Wins The Opening Race of F1 Esports Series Pro Championship 2022

Scotland’s Lucas Blakeley won the season opener of this year’s F1 Esports Series Pro Championship, presented by Aramco. The newly signed driver of McLaren Shadow triumphed on Wednesday night in Bahrain.

The Scottish made a leading start from the pole but struggled a bit in the end. However, he managed to overtake the defending champion  Jarno Opmeer to grab the victory. Blakeley secured his maiden win in Bahrain last year. It puts his team McLaren Shadow in a firm position on team standings after the opening race.

The F1 Esports Series Pro Championship 2022 this year features a new format of 50% distance races. It added a new strategic dimension to racing. The event will run from Wednesday to Friday. It now heads to Imola in Italy for the next race to be held on Thursday evening. The third round will take place in Silverstone, Great Britain.

Nine of the ten official F1 Esports teams have added at least one new player for this edition. Seven drivers made their debuts this year. Ten drivers have switched teams while two teams appeared with completely new lineups compared to the previous edition. The qualifying and race streams will be available to watch respectively at 14:30 and at 18:30 on the official Twitch and YouTube channels of UTC.
