The Breeders’ Cup is an annual world championship series, sanctioned under Grade I thoroughbred horse races. It was first launched in 1984 and has been hosted annually since by the Breeders’ Cup Limited. The two-day race event is held in various sites in the United States.

At present, 14 disciplines are hosted over 2 days in the event. Marathon and Juvenile Sprint were discontinued from the event. In each race, 12-14 starters are allowed based on track dimension. They are selected via 3 methods.

The 2021 edition of the cup was held in Del Mar, California. The popular American jockey Joel Rosario became the Classics’ champion with his now-retired horse Knicks Go.

This year’s event will be hosted at Keeneland in Kentucky. Because of the ongoing epidemic, the event organizers have taken additional precautions to safeguard the health of the participants and guests.
