Cape Town ePrix 2023 is an upcoming formula E racing event. Its inaugural edition will be the 5th event of ongoing 2022-23 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season. The event will also mark the first iteration of Formula E racing within the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
As the name suggests, the upcoming ePrix racing event will be held at the Cape Town Street Circuit. While the event was initially planned to be a part of the 2022 calendar, it was pushed back due to covid-19 pandemic.
Following the recent cancelation of Seoul ePrix, the event’s plan was reintroduced this year. The Cape Town formula race will feature Formula E Gen3 cars like the recent Hyderabad ePrix event. However, changing the car won’t be permitted during racing periods.
