Abierto GNP Seguros is the sponsored title of the popular WTA event, the Monterrey Open. This long-running event has been a part of the WTA Tour’s annual WTA 250 series for the past fifteen years.
Like every year, the upcoming edition will feature 32 singles participants competing in hard outdoor courts in Mexico. They will be fighting for a share of the $259,303 prize pool.
Abierto GNP Seguros 2023 is featuring Caroline Garcia as the 1st seed. The French female professional is ranked 5th in WTA singles worldwide. She was a quarterfinalist at the Australian Open 2023. Garcia was also the champion of the WTA Finals, her career’s biggest major win last year.
Czech tennis professional, Marie Bouzkova is selected as the 2nd seed at the upcoming event. The 12 ITF singles titleholder is ranked 26th in the WTA worldwide standings. Bouzkova won her career-first WTA singles title at the Prague Open last year. She did so by upsetting Anastasia Potapova in the finals.
Donna Vekic is the 3rd seed at the upcoming Monterrey event. The 33rd WTA singles ranker is a professional tennis player and businesswoman from Croatia. She reached the quarterfinals at Australian Open this year but was defeated by Aryna Sabalenka.
