ATP Korea Open 2022: Schedule, How to Watch, Purse and Top Seeds

The ATP Tour has arrived in Seoul, South Korea as the ATP Korea Open 2022 is ready to start on the 26th of September at the Seoul Olympic Park Tennis Center. Here you will find all the information regarding the inaugural ATP edition of the tournament.

Since its inception in 2004, this Seoul-based event has always taken place outdoors on the Hard Court surface. This marks the first time that Korea Open is hosting both Men’s and Women’s tournaments. The men’s tournament is officially known as Eugene Korea Open Tennis Championships 2022.

Despite being an ATP 250 tournament, many top players over the years have arrived in Seoul to take part in the inaugural ATP tournament in this event. The top seeds consist of two top 10 players. Casper Ruud and Cameron Norrie are joined by six more top 50 players including the likes of Denis Shapovalov and Borna Coric to fill up the top 8 seeds.

The No. 1 seed for the 2022 Korea Open is the world no. 2, Casper Ruud. Ruud is on an absolute tear this season. Although he failed to win any major trophies, the Norwegian reached the grand finals of two majors and another masters 1000. His consistency that included these finals, along with three ATP 250 tournament victories has earned him the no. 2 spot in the ATP rankings as of September 2022.

Cameron Norrie is the 2nd seed in the tournament. The Briton is having the best year of her career reaching a career-high no. 8 in the ATP ranking. Along with two singles title wins, he reached his maiden grand-slam semi-finals this year at Wimbledon. Norrie will look to keep up his form in this event to qualify for the ATP Finals later this season.

The 3rd seed is world no. 5, Taylor Fritz from the USA. Fritz, similar to many youngsters this season, is in great form. He reached his career-high ranking this year as he climbed up to the top 15 following his win in Indian Wells.
