She fell off a bit in the middle of the year and is now entering the tournament as world no. 4. Yet, the 24-year-old remains one of the favorites to win the whole thing.
The 3rd seed is world no. 5, Ons Jabeur from Tunisia. In 2022, Jabeur made her debut in the top 5 reaching as high as no. 2 in the world. She is riding on massive momentum as she reached the Finals in the 2022 Wimbledon Championship before losing to the eventual victor, Elena Rybakina.
The reigning champion, Danielle Collins has withdrawn from the tournament.
