Van Open, also known as the Vancouver Open and Odlum Brown VanOpen is the most anticipated professional tennis tournament in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Here is a detailed article about the Van Open 2022

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was not held in the past two years. This year, it returned even bigger with a combination of ATP Challenger Tour 125 and WTA 125 events. The hard-court tournament is at Hollyburn Country Club, Vancouver, Canada. It started on August 13 and will run till August 21. 135 professional tennis stars from across the globe are featured in the tournament.

Women’s Defending Champion: Heather Watson

Heather Miriam Watson is a former British No. 1 player. She owns nine titles so far. She won the mixed-doubles title with her partner Henri Kontinen at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships. She claimed her first WTA Tour singles title at the Japan Open in October 2012. She turned pro in 2010 and achieved her career-high ranking of 38 on January 19, 2015.

In the previous edition of Van Open in 2019, the Briton won the women’s singles event with a 7–5, 6–4 victory over Spain’s Sara Sorribes Tormo.
