Serena Williams is under the spotlight at US Open 2022. The American tennis legend hinted at her retirement from the game earlier in August and said this US Open is possibly her last tournament. This makes the entire tennis world eye her with more attention. Williams has the most (23) Grand Slam singles titles in her Opens career while Margaret Court owns the most, being 24 in terms of total singles titles count.

Great Britain’s Emma Raducanu is the defending champion. She is currently World no. 11 and British No. 1. She reached a career-high ranking of No. 10 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on 11 July this year. Making her WTA Tour debut last year, she became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title at the US Open since 1977.
