Danish badminton player Viktor Axelsen is the leading seed of this year’s Malaysia Open. He has been leading the BWF singles international standings since last December. Axelsen is also the 2022 World Champion, which is his second world championship title. With 6 additional world tour titles in 2022, he won his career second Male Player of the Year award.

Lee Zii Jia is the second seed at Malaysia Open. The Malaysian is also 2nd in the BWF singles standings. Last year, he won the Manila singles and Selangor doubles.
