Mickelson is one of just 17 golfers in history to have captured at least three of the four major championships. Except for the U.S. Open, where he has a record-tying six second-place finishes, he has won every major.

Mickelson has spent more than 25 consecutive years in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking and is the only golfer to have won three of the four majors to join the Saudi-sponsored LIV Golf tour in 2022.

College Golf:

Mickelson received a golf scholarship to Arizona State University in Tempe, where he went on to represent amateur golf in the country by winning three NCAA individual titles and three Haskins Awards as the best collegiate golfer. With three each, he and Ben Crenshaw share the record for the most NCAA titles ever won by an individual. Additionally, Mickelson guided the Sun Devils to the 1990 NCAA team championship. Mickelson was only the second college golfer to be named to the first team all four years. He also made history in 1990 by becoming the first golfer to win the U.S. Amateur championship with a left-handed swing. When Mickelson won his first PGA Tour competition, the Northern Telecom Open, in Tucson in January 1991, he accomplished possibly his greatest amateur feat and became one of the select few golfers in PGA Tour history to do so. He was the first amateur to win a tour event at age 20 and the first to do it after Scott Verplank in the Western Open in more than five years.

Professional Career:

In 1992, Mickelson completed his graduation from ASU. After graduating he turned into a professional golfer. He achieves multiple PGA tournaments including the Byron Nelson Golf Classic, AT&T  Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, the World Series of Golf, the Colonial National Invitation, and the Greater Hartford Open. He acted in a silent role in the film ‘Tin Cup’. He won the Buick Invitational in 2000 as he had represented very well in the 2003 season. He has the incapability to win all of them.

First 3 major wins (2004-06):

Mickelson’s 1st major title was at the PGA Tour Tournament in 2004, the 2nd major title was at the PGA Championship in Baltusrol, and the 3rd major title was at the following sprint at the Masters.

3rd Masters win (2010):

Mickelson accomplished the Master’s Tournament. This victory marked him the 3rd Master’s Win. He remained one of the best golfers in the U.S. Open.

PGA Tour (2020):

Mickelson accomplished third at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am and second in the WGC-FedEx st. Jude Invitational. After winning Charles Schwab Series at Ozarks National he was eligible for PGA Tour Champions. He tied the PGA Tour Champions with the best record. He accomplished the ‘Dominion Energy Charity Classic’.

Oldest Major Champion (2021):

The player won the 3rd time in the PGA Tour Championship in 2021. He also won the ending seasonal Charles Schwab Cup in Phoenix, Arizona. This win was the 4th win in his 6 career.

LIV Golf (2022):

He has lost sponsors Amstel Light and KPGM before badly commenting about murdering journalist Jamal Khashoggi. He announced to spend with his family and would miss the Master’s Tournament 2022.
