Washington Open 2022: Schedule, How to Watch and Top Seeds

The 53rd edition of The Washington Open is all set to start on August 1. The week-long tennis tournament is being held at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center, in Washington DC, USA.

Also known as Citi Open 2022, this event is an ATP 500 tournament part of the US Open Series. Similar to the previous editions, It will be contested on a hardcourt outdoor surface.

Washington Open has a solid player base in 2022 as evident from the many strong players that have already arrived in the US Capital. Of those who are confirmed to participate, Andrey Rublev is the sole representative of the top 10 players in the world. The No.2 seed for the tournament is Hubert Hurkacz. Hurkacz is ranked 11th at the moment in the world rankings. He won his first ATP 500 title this year in Halle defeating world no.1, Danil Medvedev in the final. The Polish tennis star aims to win his 2nd ATP 500 title and return to the top 10.

Seed no. 3 is Taylor Fritz from the USA. 2022 has been the best year of Taylor Fritz’s career. The American youngster has won his maiden masters 1000 title at the Indian Wells Open defeating 22-time grand-slam winner Rafael Nadal. He has already entered the top 15 in the world ranking and hopes to continue his rise to the very top.

The 2022 Washington Open will start on August 1 and will conclude on August 7.
